The Coffee House

Canada got scratched early at the 2024 WKC in Milan. Japan and Korea always make the finals...
Experience and guile save me from total humiliation with 20-somethings--occasionally!

I've got my kendo canes with my martial arts gear in the bedroom, geez they can hurt sometimes.

Shin strikes🤣.

Ippon get fewer and farther between!

A couple of the projects to do in the Spring will be to try to remove the rock (or at least decorate it) and replace the little pier. I’m leaning towards a floating pier/dock so it can be pulled out in winter. The little shed needs some attention, too. Probably use it for storing the kayak stuff.

So pretty. Busy summer=no time at friends' old place out on a tiny island near Gananoque, Ontario.

Mrs magpie has laid a 2nd lot of eggs, but she's in a different nest and tree yet again. Up the road still but around the corner a tad, only problem is i can't photograph her or see because shes in someone's backyard and i dont have my telephoto lens for 3 weeks.

Wont know how many chicks untill there fledglings and she brings them around. Thats 20 odd days till they hatch and then another 1 month in the nest.

This sucks!

Ooo, I didn't realize you had scored a place with a lakefront! It's beautiful!

I like the big rock. Adds character! ;)

If I ever get to Maine ...
We could be Charlie's worst nightmare - a bunch of drunken photographers descending on his new home for a TPF meetup/housewarming. We will trample his grass and break bottles on that fabulous rock to christen it. Sounds like a party!

How's it sound to you, @snowbear ?

Howdy folks! Two years ago today, my son Daniel left as a result of fentanyl poisoning.

Chip the glasses and crack the plates!
Blunt the knives and bend the forks!
That's what the Snowbear hates- (hat tip to The Hobbit)
