What's new

The Coffee House

Didn't do the botanical garden, the train was packed full on the trip up there it was horrible and cramped and really loud with humans talking endlessly + the screaming crying kid for 2 hours.

The citys just to dam loud and to dam busy.

Just wanted my lens, minus $300 and to get back to the country & my 2 yards. Home!

Love her name - very sweet! Mazel!

We'll have to get the follow-up story on this new adventure!

She's gonna have a great life now🤪...
Well, I'm just not the kind of person who can "ask forgiveness rather than permission" so the dear spouse is aware of the new (possible) aquisition. There was some pushback, but in the end approval. Going on Saturday to meet Honey at the Animal Services center and start the ball rolling. Since I'm over 60, the adoption fee is waived. So hopeful! :)

Nice to get the adoption fee waived. :thumbyo: And good on ya to be upfront about the pup. You probably knew that she'd be okay with it in the end, and this way you can both enjoy the whole experience better! 😉

Roll the ball faster, she wants to come home Mr🙂...

The Plovers lost a chick on the 1st night, 2 nights ago☹.

After all these years they've never been successful at this. I never see mum or dad feeding the chicks, seems like the chicks are fending for themselves and starving.

But i may be missing the feedings since i can't watch them all the time, only while there in the court. I dont know???

Well, this week has been sort of a shock. We have mandatory in-office three times a year, and I missed the last two due to being out of town. When you work with folks on a daily basis, you don't notice them aging. When you see them for the first time in person in over a year, it's all these "old people." One by one, we are all retiring.

Good morning, hosers. A little chilly here, but I love it.
Got new tires on the truck - All Terrains with highway manners. They also have the "Three Peak Snowflake" rating, so they should do better in snow and ice that all-season tires. I'll get real snow tires in a couple weeks. We fly up to Maine on Monday to close of the house, get some photos, take measurements, and come up with some rough floor plan sketches.

Now for the good news: I have officially put in my paperwork to retire at the end of this year! I will migrate to Maine to oversee the projects on the house there, taking up keeper stuff from the two houses (ours and MLSIL's) every few of weeks.

Lewiston Strong.

I've heard of the same reaction from people attending a high school reunion! "Who are all these old people? Where are my friends?"

In other news, Happy Friday, hosers! :boogie: We're going to pick up a tile order today. Redoing our fireplace surround, hearth and mantle. The house is a wreck atm but hopefully will start coming together soon!

When I was a police dispatcher, the department would send the cadets from the academy ove to communications to learn what we do. If we were lucky, they would take notice, remember, and not end up being @$$holes on the radio after thay graduated.

I'd see them come in and think "WHAT! Are they grabbing these kids out of middle school?" They were at least 21.

Congrats all around! Now the countdown to retirement must feel closer than ever.

We'll be waiting for pics of the new house!

Including today, 39 working days left. I'll be taking photos Monday (quick walk-through) and Tuesday (measurements). Definitely have the phone for photos but I may take one of the Nikons. Our niece has professionsal experience with Interior Design and has agreed to give us some ideas on what to do. We have the general Ideas (add two main bedroom suites on first floor, reconfig kitchen, etc).

At my last HS reunion - our 40th (yikes), I was shocked at how many people looked like grandpas and grandmas - and they probably are! But there were also many who looked young and healthy. Some people looked 70 and others looked 40.

This is a trial of the current YouTube "Playlist" function. I have made playlists before, but YT has changed a lot since then. The list I created has four videos, each about 5 minutes long and featuring music from various years. You might want to avoid this one. . . . :)

Ignore this post. The "Playlist" failed. I won't try this again right now, maybe someday later.
