I have a very nice L L Bean packable down vest my mom gave me back in the 80's. It still looks in excellent shape and still keeps my torso very warm. The nice part is that if the air warms up too much, I can pack it up into a small bag that is sown into one of the pockets and hang it on my belt. Great quality stuff and worth the price when they last that long.

I decided to put together the lego camera yet. I have to say, its pretty cool and was fun to put together. Brought back some memories of putting together some kits when I was a kid. But I think this one is really cool and its affordable to have a little bit of fun. There is a polaroid sx70 kit too I think that I'd like to get.

They'll look good on the shelf, unless they fall off and create a mess and then I step on one of he pieces later

This is when I started. There are 261 pieces but you don't use ALL of them.

Even comes with film!!! Hahaha

I really like this strap, if someone could recreate this design and make it for real cameras, it would be awesome. I'd buy one.

Change in Christmas plans. MLW got sick last night, with sore throat & sinus pain enough to miss work. I’m in the 3” to 5” (7.6 to 12.7 cm) snow zone but Baltimore (the airport) is in expecting snow & ice. We’re going to hold off a week. MLSIL will fly up while MLW rides up with me and the kitty. That also gives the contractor more time to finish the flooring.

Speaking of flooring, we’re getting there. The pine boards in the dining room don’t natch the pine boards that were under the old vinyl planks in the kitchen. We’re going with the same floor throughout except one area on the second floor.

My brothers and I had a large plastic 50-gallon drum full of Legos, and we would make full sized vehicles for our GI Joe's back in the early 70's... back before Lego became famous and expensive. Our sons grew up with them too. Now they are just too expensive.

Looks good! Hoping to rescue some 10"-12" mixed walnut, oak, pine planks stored since the early '70s when the family ruin underwent its last reno. All look straight and uncupped.

Merry Christmas Hosers! And a happy and healthy New Year to all! The house is quiet right now, I’m sitting in front of the fireplace enjoying a few minutes of down time. It’s the calm before the storm. Soon Princess will wake up and we will open gifts and then make our favorite blueberry muffins and have a mimosa to kick off the day. Then we have a few short hours to relax before we have to start cooking and set up the extra tables and chairs. 16 for dinner this year. The family will start arriving about 1 and it will be complete chaos (the good, loud, fun kind of chaos) until much later tonight when eventually people start to head home loaded up with gifts and leftovers. Tomorrow I will sleep in then I have a spa appointment for some much needed relaxation! Life is good.

@snowbear congratulations on your retirement and on the new house - the updates look great! Next time I’m in that part of Maine I’m stopping by for a tour.

@CherylL I have never heard of Gen Jones is that something new? I’m 1965 and have always felt I am an OG Gen X having lived the latch key/take care of yourself at age 9/its 10pm do you know where your kids are existence.
