What's new

The Coffee House

Thanks, Terri. That’s what we figured when we first saw it. There’s was another house we looked at that day. It was much newer, had a better garage but no water view (MLSIL’s list) but we all thought this one had more potential. There’s a small shed near the water, on the right, that I’ll use to store the kayak equipment. The big rock will stay so I’ll just decorate it. I’ll plant some ferns and maybe heather around it.
I thought the big rock was awesome! I wouldn't give it a second thought.

You all clearly made the right decision. Applause!

Howdy Folks! Ugh! What a flop of a birthday weekend. My son's girlfriend's daughter gifted everyone their own personal stomach bug. That was not pleasant at all. Yesterday was supposed to be an extended weekend day, and I spent the entire day in bed covered in dogs and blankets. Today is a recovery day, and tomorrow is back to work. Between this and the layoffs and all the other garbage, I vote we load our last save and redo February... what do you mean the save is corrupted?

Both vehicles are now registered in Maine and the Honda has passed inspection. I got back in Maryland a couple hours ago to put the new tags on the truck, then take it up for inspection tomorrow.

MLW’s “Office Manager” is on leave next week and the week after so she can’t telework and a little harder for her to get away for a couple hours, so I’ll be back down next week to sit with MLSIL. She’s doing fine but she’s not supposed to be doing any lifting. I’ll handle things like the laundry and be here in case there’s an issue with her colostomy bag.

Family first.

It warmed up a little bit today, decided to get on the tractor and move some snow with the bucket. Needed some bucket experience...got the tractor at the tail end of fall so I really haven't much practice with it, just the snow plow. But I think the snow plow helped!

Video coming soon :D

What a beautiful day we had here! Sunny, highs in the mid-50's. I put a fresh suet cake in the feeder and topped off the bird feeder. Almost at once a huge red-bellied woodpecker arrived at the suet. There's a swarm of birds at both places.

The snowpack has melted down and all the birds were bathing in the puddles, water droplets were flying through the air.

Felt more like spring than a February day. :)

@jeffashman : Boo, hiss! So sorry the party weekend fizzled out. Kind of the opposite of what was expected. Glad you're feeling better.

Here's the video I made today. Apparently according to others I'm too slow 🙄

Well jeez. I'm new to it and I'm just going to go beat the snot out of a brand new tractor. "It's just snow" snow is heavy and can get hard. It's not mulch. I didn't want to risk damaging anything going hog wild plowing into it just to move it and doesn't help when everything is a sheet of ice and I don't got chains on.

People need to relax. I felt like I did fine and was learning. I don't think there is anything wrong with taking your time. Why rush? I was having fun.

Sorry...rant over.

We had a late Valentine date yesterday at a Pizza place in town, that's been under the same family ownership for 48 years. Bar none the best pie any where.

Heading back to ME to get truck inspected. Staying in Mystic, CT for the night. Then I’m going to fly back to MD on Monday to stay with MLSIL for a couple weeks. Get some things packed and MLW will try to schedule movers. I’ll fly back to ME around the 18th
