What's new

The Coffee House

All done, jabbed in both arms, so far so good.

Smoke, you're probably just as well off to wait a bit, they always say not to get flu shots too early. I'm still getting in home services so went with what they have available. It's almost Oct. so it's about time anyway.

Cheryl that does sound odd. Maybe well intentioned but seems like she would've shown her own photos.

No pics but tonight’s dinner was rigatoni with homemade bolognese. MLSIL loved it. Tomorrow is the Maryland Italian Festval.

Getting both pokes soon. Masking up regularly now in other than mob scene venues like HomeDepot and Costco that I open whenever possible. Main concern is my ancient FIL who I see regularly. Semi-troubled by the willful amnesia about spring 2020 and what followed.

Well hell... did my normal routine this morning of getting up, showering, and shaving, and using one of my favorite Italian after shaves... and I couldn't smell the after shave. Couldn't taste my coffee. Couldn't taste the left over chicken tikka masala (extra spicy) I had for breakfast. My DSU tested me, and I've tested positive for the big C. Now some decisions need to be made. In-laws are supposed to visit on Thursday, but they are in their 80s', so that may have to be delayed. Sigh.

If you have other symptoms, take the Paxlovid if you qualify for it. It really worked for me 2x within 48 hours I was symptom free.

Sorry to hear it. When I got it, I didn’t have the “classic” loss of smell; I had body aches, like you can get with the flu

Jeesh, lay low but please keep in touch with your health care resources. Fingers crossed you're clear of it soon.

Ugh; sorry to hear that Jeff! I hope the symptoms pass quickly. Do you think your in-laws will be okay with rescheduling the visit? That would probably be the safest option until you can test negative.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I'm up and about, but it really sucks that my Illy coffee has no smell or flavor, just bitter hot water. In-laws are aware of the situation, and DMIL is "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead..." FIL (the actual Naval officer) is more like, "there are torpedoes in the water, proceed with caution..." Keeping myself hydrated, monitoring my O2, Thieves in the diffuser (can't smell it though), and managing the sore throat. Hoping this passes soon.

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.

Sorry Jeff. Hope you get your taste and smell back soon.

Today was Thanksgiving Day in Canada, so I'll wish everyone a happy, healthy Thanksgiving, and yes, in Canuckland we generally have turkey or ham!
