Adoption visit is back on.
Adoption visit is back on.
First pic at home. Stats: 18 months, 34 lbs, shy, quiet, timid. One scar on nose. She was found in an empty field.

Yep, my co-worker who was fostering her told us the same thing. So far, she's doing ok. She was traumatized by having to return to the rescue for the meet and greet, and then the drive home. I had a mess to clean up in the back seat to say the least. She has calmed down, and now sits under my desk while I'm at the computer. We spent the afternoon in the back yard, and I left the door open so that she could come in when she was ready. They've been feeding her Hills Science Diet, and they gave us a small bag. We feed our dogs Freshpet, so we are mixing the two as we wean her off the hard kibble and transition her to the more nutritious soft food. Her crate is set up, although it's Saturday, and I let the dogs on the bed on the weekend. My co-worker basically gives her dogs an open all-you-can eat buffet, so she will have to get used to twice a day instead, and she lets them sleep on the bed all the time, but I need my rest for work. She is definitely house trained, which is nice. Once she has calmed down and gotten used to the place, I'll get some better pix of her.Remember the rescue dog rule of 3’s. 3 days to realize they’re at their new home, 3 weeks to learn family routine and settle in, 3 months to come out of their shell and trust their new family

Aww. Poor little girl. She was likely just getting to feel at home with the foster fam, and now here she is having to start again. It's so fortunate that she is this young and will have the rest of her life to live in a forever home environment. She'll calm down as the days go by, and her early days will be long gone in her memory banks. She clearly has picked you to bond with right now!Good morning! Night one with Honey come and gone. She's very timid right now and spooks easily. Daisy has decided to let Honey know that as the newcomer, she's at the bottom of the pecking order. Honey spent the night in her crate, but was some work to get her in there, because although she's crate trained, over the past few weeks she was allowed to sleep on beds. Honey follows me around and sits either behind me, or under my feet at the computer workstation. We will have to have a discussion on do's and don't's though... found a pair of the lieber Frau's shoes outside...We are keeping the house open for now to give Honey free reign to go in and out... will have to keep an eye on the shoes. Off to a very good start though.

You cashing in the car wash coupon nowI went on a trail ride in Western Maryland with one of the Jeep clubs yesterday. Waze routed me through West Virginia to get there, the first time in the state with the truck which makes 12, so far.
