The Coffee House

Just learned that the “clouds” that are rolling in is actually smoke from a very bad brushfire in Salem, which is about 10 miles from here. We are being advised to keep our windows closed and stay indoors if possible.

Our week at the beach came to an end today. Left Gulf Shores early, surprisingly it was light traffic all the way. Been a few years since we been there, likely won't go back. The commercialization is out of control, next time we'll go east or west in search of more inviting area.

Yep, I have fond memories of growing up a block from the beach on the Space Coast in Florida, but since I graduated High School and left the area, they've built condos all up and down the beach, so I'll never return there. It's a shame we have to commercialize every square inch of beauty. Oh, well. At least Texas has prevented the same thing from happening along the Gulf Coast for the most part. Will get my beach fix at Padre Island instead. Need to get to South Padre so I can do some birding with my camera.

@jeffashman GS has allowed development of the narrow strip of land between the highway and the protected beach, so you're limited to small access points for miles of beach front. Then to add insult to injury, you have to pay to park in their dinky little unpaved lots. Biloxi, Pass Christen, Long Beach and Pascagula in MS have no developments, between the road and the beach, with free parking.

I had Biloxi once, but I got better... 😂 I was stationed at Keesler for computer programming school.

Ok, when is lamb cuttlet night then?😉 Why no pork? Not sure i could eat a goat Mr.
Well, I just took the rest of the leg of lamb we had this past weekend, and added some crushed tomatoes and mixed veggies with onion, garlic, oregano, and thyme, and had that over elbow macaroni. No pork for religious reasons. ;) I drink alcohol, so that eliminates one of the two Abrahamic faiths that doesn't eat pork. ;)

It’s Done! We have a house in Maine!
:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

The joke of the day has to do with the forms we signed: MLSIL is a co-borrower and a few of the forms she had to sign on the space labeled “spouse.”

The sellers didn’t get the truck they needed so they are still clearing out, which is fine. Tomorrow we will get the P.O. Box and get the water account opened. We still need to contact the oil and cable companies.

Maybe a trip to LL Bean. 😉
