Today was nasty cold but things are looking a bit better later in the week. On the bright side - this is good frozen soap bubble weather! Must be 18F or colder and no wind at all.

These put my stunt double out of work. Nothing is great on glare ice but the coils grip better overall than the carbide peg types.

I have these Crampons. I have a pair of coil ones also but they don’t stay on as well as these do.

It's hump day! I'm off work due to a bug of some sort that is making me feel miserable. Currently 26F with clear skies and with an indoor humidity of 15%, and that is with an aquarium in the room. So, headache, joints ache, and itchy skin just to make sure I'm really uncomfortable.

I'm so sorry. Sounds like you're officially allergic to winter! Tell them you'll be back to work when the temps hit 50F. I'm sure they'll understand.

The worst of our bitter cold snap is over today. Currently, it's only 2F out there but the temps are going to continue to rise all day. It's going to stay in the more manageable upper 20s/low 30s for the next several days.

Our low last night was -5F! Eww. Right now I'm waiting to see my little fox squirrel friend at the back door. I want to know she's okay.

I need to find a new hobby, something new to do. Anything to take my mind off things and to learn something new in the process. Last winter/spring I bought some untested film cameras and restored them. That was fun and I might do that again.

Hopefully a lift for any and all snow/ice-bound.
One of the ancient "rescue" roses at the family ruin--an old climber moved
and given a new obelisk home. Last summer. No blooms previous summer--only blooms on new growth. Fingers crossed this winter didn't mug her but she's endured worse in her old spot.

Highly recommend painting as a new hobby. There’s a ton of really good tutorials on YouTube and it’s a very relaxing way to spend your time.

Little red squirrel finally made an appearance, about 30 minutes ago. Today is a few degrees warmer than it has been lately, but overcast and spitting snow. The sunny cold days felt better, and she never showed up.

Cold (but spoiled) fox squirrel outside the door:

She always reaches to take the first one from my hand now. I pile the rest up while she's munching.

She took off for home after two handfuls of walnuts. Getting dark and temps are dropping again.
