The color versions of my walkabout today. C&C welcome.

I took my new 85mm f/1.8 for it's first adventure today. The colors in the park were pretty drab, so I tried to use the sun to add some visual interest. I also noticed I had to really work to get this thing to flare. It wasn't until the sun was at the FAR edge of the frame that I would get some flaring. Here were the best of what I came up with. I do love this lens! C&C appreciated.

I really like the 2nd one, love the tones and the branches of that tree. The last one is nice also. I find the first one seems indicative of the day and its colors but just rather plain for me. This is about the time of year when my love for leaves turns to fighting them haha. Third one is interesting in that it gets to the point. I find myself wanting more from it but yet it's all about making you stop and kinda freeze in one spot. It's certainly the image that made me think the most out of all of them.

Thanks! When I took it, I almost deleted it off the camera upon review, but I'm glad I didn't! It turned out to be one of my favorites, too.

Thanks for the feedback! I've been trying and trying to get out to get some fall photos, but unfortunately most of the trees have shed their leaves by now, so looking down is the only place I can find them! I agree, though, it's not very interesting. I think I liked it mostly for the contrast and how the leaves really stood out sharply from the grass.. I think I fell in love with the second one almost exclusively for the reasons you mentioned. I also liked it because it really showcased the sharpness of the lens in those branches and the grass. Thanks again for the comments!
