If I can leave my cheapie $200 superzoom out in a rain storm for 7 hours over night and it be just fine, I don't see how a single wave can bother a $1000 camera....

I opened the battery and memory card doors and poured a puddle of water out of my cheapie camera. 2 days and it was dry and working fine.

I believe the main different is the salt.
