The Dogs are taking over the beach

Yes nearest is mine my mums is the one in the group of 4 looking towards us, this was only a few that were on the beach, it is the only beach in St Ives Cornwall (where i used to live) that allows dogs on the beach all day the others you are only allow after 7pm

The way the image is composed, my eyes go directly to the area where there are no dogs. Shooting this from a lower angle would've made this one a winner, in my opinion.

I was low, my dog is probably about 3 foot away from me, i am 6 foot camera was probably 3 foot off sand . Have you ever heard of using triangles in composition ?

There are things about the composition that I would like better but you can't stage dogs very easily ... love the grain, it makes the shot

Better use of triangles than what you provided IMO. There is a lot of nothingness in the middle which is quite odd.

Gary, next time hire a local dog-herder...maybe they call 'em dog wranglers in the UK??? Not sure what name these fellows go by over there, in the land where the car hood is the bonnet, and knocking a girl up does NOT mean "getting her pregnant"...but you get the idea....professional dog-wrangler, yes, that's the ticket. And of course, you will want a proper film loader/labeler, with his own film supply pouch, and of course, appropriate colored marking pens to write notes on the film cannisters as they come out of the camera. And of course, you will need a driver. And a valet. All these people telling you how to shoot, I figure you might as well let me give you some equally good advice. For free!!!

What does the triangles thing have to do with the constructive comment I made about your photo? You did great including the three elements; unfortunately, you included them in a way that resulted in a composition that leaves a lot to be desired. Triangle or not, the viewer's eyes go exactly where you don't want them to go (assuming that the subject is your dog, which isn't really clear here). I don't care how low you were – you needed to be lower for your dog to become the subject. You also clipped the dog on the right. The only thing this photo has going on for it is the grain, and your beautiful dog of course.

I never, ever, lash out against anybody. I guess that's what you get when you laugh at other people's work – especially when trying to pass your own work as good.
