She's been hard to spot this summer but she made an appearance this weekend.
I was actually trying to get shots of the woodchuck that lives under my shed and heard her call.

I have no idea if Clucky and Bride of Clucky are a mating pair since I have yet to see them together. But we're hoping they are and that they bring some clucklings around.

And for those who are wondering, this is a female red-bellied woodpecker.

I've seen what I believe to be adult hairy woodpeckers feeding what I believe to be adolescents, birds that are almost fully grown but still needing a hand from mom and dad. There is often a HUGE ruckus when this goes on with lots of squawking on the part of the juveniles.

Should Clucky and B o C come around with young ones, I can only imagine the amount of clucking that would go on. But that would be a welcome sight despite the noise.
