the famous Pemaquid puddle

This is Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. We had a fantastic sky on our way home from our road trip to see the puffins. We stopped at Pemaquid to capture the traditional Pemaquid puddle shot. It's a cliche for a reason! This has to be one of my favorite lighthouses in Maine and that says a lot because Maine definitely has the most fantastic lighthouses on the planet.

Love the colors and the reflection. Can see why it would be a popular photo spot. I love lighthouses. Unfortunately I live in the interior and don’t get to see them very often.

3rd time is the charm. First time there it was clear skies and harsh mid day light. I hadn’t graduated from Auto and didn’t have a polarizer. Last year it was overcast, grey and foggy This year the clouds aligned perfectly and it was still early enough for the rocks not to be covered with people.

Yes! I never realized the Great Lakes had so many lighthouses until someone in one of my Facebook groups started posting his photos. Absolutely beautiful!

Thanks! We were there early enough that it wasn’t too too crowded. This lighthouse is on one of the “fingers” in mid coast Maine so it’s not on the way to anywhere which keeps the number of visitors down.
