If your "focus" (sorry) was truly the fire damange, I think there is just too much else (space and bright light) in the frame to pull your eyes away from the near end of the bench. I don't know what angle would make it more interesting as in telling a story of its past. Perhaps wedding flowers against it, as in the past and the present, life goes on etc.
