THe Hanging Window

Took some photos of some doors and windows as a theme and I chose this to do a composition in. I wanted to see how it would look black and white. As I cropped in more it came to me
to make it look as though it was hanging in the dark. I am not really good with black and white as I really never have been a big fan but when some people nail the photo it really makes for a striking photo. This is just an amateur attempt at black and white produced from color.

Sharp and has interesting texture and you've used a good tint for the subject, but a little high in contrast for my taste. There are probably some nice mid-tones and subtle gradations in that wood, but with the contrast this high, they aren't really apparent.

I have to agree with KenC. The very first impression (mom always said this was the most important) was holy contrast Batman! It almost hurts my eyes. Otherwise I LOVE the subject, I am a big fan of doors and windows.
