For a number of years, my wife and I have been chasing lighthouses around the Great Lakes. In the mid-1990's, I was using mostly transparency films, and shooting medium format. This particular image was taken using Fujichrome 100, Camera was a Mamiya RB67 Pro S, 645 back, and a 50mm lens. Both images were recently scanned to digital using an Epson V850.
The first photo was taken at dawn, when the sky was particularly clear, and waters were very calm. The second photo was later in the morning, the winds had freshened from the east, and a number of visitors were on the keeper's walk.
For those not familiar with the area, the lighthouse is on the west bank of Sandusky Bay, on Lake Erie. The east side of the bay has the Cedar Point amusement park.
