Taken back in Dec of '20 but never processed. This water hole always looked great just before sundown.

No1 for me too - there is a slight motion blur on the 2nd image = around the head

Thanks, Lez. Yeah, I saw that blur, too. I kind of figured it would turn out that way when I took the picture because I was trying to get a low ISO @ 1/200 sec. when the bird did that unexpected food toss. As you can see, the low setting worked out ok in #1 when the bird wasn't moving fast. I'd thought about not posting it but I couldn't pass up a food toss. :wink-6:

1/200th sec?? that's rather slow in my book- I try to achieve 1/2000th sec if I can - this means pushing the ISP way high, that said Sony Mirrorless bodies can handle noise extremely well up to ISO 6400

My camera doesn't handle high ISO very well so I had the VR turned on, it holds the image very still in the viewfinder and it allows me the low ISO's for when it's dimming around sunset. I generally don't use the VR for birds in good light and usually go with a min. of 1/1600 sec.
