I'm still in shock from the final play of the Iron Bowl today. Alabama has a loss now. What a wild weekend.

Oh-My-Gooooosh!!!!! What an amazing final play! The Iron Bowl today was, for me, a joy! Seeing the expressions on Nick Saban's face at multiple points in the game was simply priceless! I also watched the latter parts of the Ohio State at Michigan game...another exciting finish, but not quite the same thing. As I predicted, your FLorida State Seminoles pretty much did suck in, chew up, and spit out the Florida Gators. Wow...how the once-mighty Gators have fallen. Yikes, that was soooo uglyu that I switched over to the Ohio State Michigan game when the 'Noles got up 20-3. I was like, "Gators are done for, stick a fork in 'em."

That Alabama - Auburn game was on for the ages. The unimaginable happened with 1 second left !!

The Michigan - OSU .. well I figured UM might as well go for 2 because I think OSU would have been too consistent in OT.

I assume Derrel is from the state of Florida with a sidings of Univ of Florida ?

And Bama was the one that argued for that 1 second to be put back on the clock! That was a finish that rivals Doug Flutie's Hail Mary pass. I was so so so happy! Took some of the sting away from the Gators' loss.

God, the Gators suck worse than they have in years!

At least Michigan played a good game. I hate me some Buckeyes, though

Edited: Just checked. Gators haven't had a losing season since 1979.

Yeah, seeing Sabin on the sideline imploring the official for the replay...after the game it brought to mind the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for--the other team might field the missed field goal and run it all the way back 100 yards, for the winning score."

Yeah, I know, Florida's last losing season was ages ago. I love college football, and I've been watching it long enough to remember some of the great dynasty teams that had 10- to 15-year runs, and then somehow,some way, end up falling on hard times. Like Ron's beloved FSU Seminoles' FLorida State had a period from 1987 to 2000 in which they won 10 games or more in each and every one of those years, but in recent times had slipped. Miami won the title under Larry Coker in his first year, but has fallen off tremendously in recent years; watching Miami beat FLorida early in the year gave me a glimpse of what's happened to Florida...the Gators turned the ball over six times, and lost to Miami in week 1 or 2 I guess it was. Coach Urban Meyer lead Utah to an undefeated season, and in one famous Sugar Bowl game Utah RIPPED Alabama, badly.Humiliated them. Meyer left Utah and became the head man at Florida, and under Meyer, Florida was national champion...then Meyer left Florida and went to Ohio State, and they have won 24 straight games now... Nebraska was once a "dynasty", but oh, under Bo Pellini yesterday, they looked dreadful. What goes around comes around.

Man, what a game! What a boneheaded move--the last TWO plays were stupid, really. Why would you RUN the ball with 7 seconds left, unless you're just going to let time expire? But no, then it DOES expire and you push the issue so you can get a second back on the clock. And then you do THAT with it??
C'mon, Maaannnn!!!

The sewing machine on the sidelines episode was also pretty entertaining.

Haha, as a TN fan, the only redeeming part of this season (other than the fact that I do think we have a good coach and are headed back up the SEC ranks) was that the Florida Gators sucked it up even worse than we did. The rout at the hands of FSU was nice, but NOTHING compares to them getting beat by my sister's alma mater, Georgia Freakin' Southern!! That was just awesome!

Yeah...Florida getting beat by Georgia Southern....OUCH!!!!!!!!!! Now THAT's GOTTA' HURT!!!!!! I believe that is Florida's first-ever loss to an FCS (formerly Division II) school in football. I watched an early game this year where Florida turned the ball over six times, and Miami beat them, and I was like, "Whhhhhaaaaat the heck? Florida is playing horribly!" It's hard to figure out why, but sometimes, a wheel just flies off the wagon, ya' know?

The Ducks and Baylor both had big late-season derailments.Flying sky-highk red-hot and rolling, then...dud game and a loss for each one and POOF! Drop ten places in the BCS. I've seen it before...a team's doing well, and then late in the season suffers a setback, and things just snowball, and the next thing you know, you wake up and you're...Vandy....or Cal...or Washington State...or...FLorida...down in the cellar. Sometimes it's a one-year deal, like with, well, Auburn....Auburn SUCKED badly last year. What were they, 0-8 in SEC play? This year, biggest turnaround story of the nation.

Being a Florida gator myself , this has been the worst year I can ever remember in my lifetime . They wont be in a bowl the for the first time in 23 years ? I think .

Also the crazy amount of injuries they had this year did not help one bit . Well I'm just glad it over . On to next year . BTW I absolutely hate U of Miami . I can deal with the semenholes a bit better , but screw the "U"
