Appreciate the post, but as a father of 3...nothing special. It might mean more to you, but for the casual viewer it's hard to gather much from the shot itself.
Belive me, I've posted many that to me I thought it was an exceptional photograph. Until it became apparent aside from the personal emotional investment and attachment....it is/was simply a snapshot.

Keep trying.

wouldn't THINK its in the wrong place. people photography sounds about right. unless hes a robot or Hollywood movie prop. then move to appropriate robot/prop thread.

The first thing that strikes me is that his fingernails are really dirty. The crop feels too tight, but the exposure looks good and the shadows are nice.

His fingernails are ALWAYS dirty. We play outside a lot. I promise I bathe him. Lol. I agree about the crop. Unfortunately I was against a wall so I couldn't move back any further. I'm glad you like the exposure and shadows. I'm trying to get good at using my flash.
