The Mustangs of Los Colinas

Over the weekend we went to see "The Mustangs of Los Colinas" in Irving. They were gorgeous sculptures that I had no idea existed. They are one of the larges equestrian sculptures in the world. Here are just a few of the pics I took.

Do you live near there, or was it a special trip just for the pictures (I used to live about 10 minutes from there)?

Was a special trip out (a photo day hehe).. we live about 35 min from there.

Wow, wish I could find something like this!
I like pure photos, but I also like photo-manipulation so I'd love to etch out the background and put something ethereal in.

I went out there one day to shoot these and was harassed by a security guard who just knew I was taking photos for commercial reasons because I had a "professional camera" (DSLR) and he knew it was "professional" because it "has a lens". I decided not to point out that every other person out there was using a camera with a lens.

Wow, I've never had a problem there.

Once I was there for a few hours (it was a sunday or something - I was pretty much the only one there), had a tripod set up and everything. I got some IR pictures of it (those were pretty cool). I can't find any of them though. they were on my old computer (which is pretty much toast), and the backup disk I have seems to have nothing on it somehow... Very frustrating.
