Mallards and Canada geese - two of my favorite critters!!

Dang, that water looks cold.

I'm tempted to go drop a line in, but I suspect it's still too shallow and I'm not in the mood to wade. Besides, I don't want to chase the birds away. I like all of the wading birds, my faves being geese and great blue herons.

I'm sure it is. The dam is over to the right a couple hundred feet and the main branch of the river (a small one) seems to be on the far side. The ice in the shot is a skim that forms at night. There is still ice snd snow cover on most of the pond, on the left.
