The problem with Rangefinders

I do this once a day. Most annoying is that my Leica M8 will then do some TTL metering, and decide that 32 seconds is the proper exposure time... followed by a LOOOOOOOONG shutter, the ominously-missing second part of the shutter actuation... followed by 32 seconds of noise reduction.

Then I get a perfectly black image, with a few colorful pixels.

My subject has moved to Nebraska by this point.

What a strange coincidence given what I had in mind during my last WA post in these here parts - see line #29,361 for details

I was photographing a naked woman once, using my SLR...all was going well, and then I picked up a rangefinder and continued for a few shots, when she kindly said, "you should take the lens cap off".

Yup...I felt a bit embarrassed...

The very same naked woman was photographing me, once.

I was wearing the lens cap.
