Someone once described a "snapshot" to me as a photo that would only be enjoyed by someone with emotional ties to the subject.
I occasionally will take a general interest photo just for fun, but this is a hobby so I take what I like, call it what you will.
The funny thing is photography was invented to simply record images. Now doing so gets you a label. Now it must be "art" to be recognized or commented on.

When I first started taking photos and sharing them (July/August 2011) I concentrated solely on the technical aspects. I wanted to get the technical side of photography down, and
asked others that critiqued my work to concentrate only on the technical side of the image when critiquing. It wasn't until a few months ago, that i considered my photography even worth
looking at.

Now that I have the technical side down, the next step for me is getting the approval of my peers, which is the intent of my C+C now. I'm not concerned about whether or not it's art.
But I do care about the comments and critique of others. If you followed the thread from the OP - you would see that this is the 3rd edit from the original post. Not because I'm trying to please
those reviewing, but because I actually agree with their assessments and their critique made for a better image.
I do photography for me, but if I didn't care what other people thought, then sharing these images would be kind of pointless to me at this point.

Also, not disagreeing with your posts Rick, don't want you to think that I'm contradicting your message, I'm actually concurring with an elaboration.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I post for the same reasons. My last post "Left Behind" was a perfect example. Someone mentioned it may look better darker. I tried it. Liked it, and kept it. I post for opinions and fresh eyes. More times then not, that's what I get and I'm grateful. But my style, or lack of, is what I do

Yeah, maybe if I have 2 hours to kill I'll give it a shot.

Thought I'd give the cloning job a try as it looked like an Everest of a task. And funnily enough it is. (For me at least). The back fence isn't so bad, but by the time i tried to rebuild his leg shape it all went downhill, and the tiles just went limp. A bit Mobious as well at some point I dont recall. Its like the PS version of rubix cube. Anyway, it might give you a rough idea of what it would look like if you invest the two hours:

Ya know, This will probably stir up a few folks, but I don't like it. To me it just feels boring. The swing gave it a touch of candid.

The back fence isn't so bad, but by the time i tried to rebuild his leg shape it all went downhill, and the tiles just went limp. A bit Mobious as well at some point I dont recall. but I'm with Rick here. I appreciate it though.

Its not very good at all when you fullscreen it lol, but thank you for the compliment. Took about 15minutes to do the broad strokes, another 10mins on the leg, and then another 15 trying to figure out at what point the tiles began to lose perspective. (It was when i had to liquify the leg). By that point I had already realized it was going to have to be a 'start over' and had pretty much lost interest lol. I only put this up since I figured it would give you an idea of whether you wanted to go ahead or not, and removing the swing did change the picture quite a lot.

Anyway, glad to help in my own little way.
