@ntz I suspect what you're seeing as soft focus is the effect of the angled focal plane. Just looking at it on my monitor, it appears that the focal point was just to the left of the vertical corner, above the wall decorations and below the window. Given that a focal plane when angled from true verticle will change the areas in focus as you move from the center, it's what I would expect on a shot like this. Then you have the fact that not all lenses have a true flat plane, some are more curved then others. Using a smaller Aperture would give you a greater DOF, but greater diffraction, the only way to really get it all in sharp focus would be to do a focus stack. All in all I don't find the sharpness overall objectionable on this one.
