Yesterday we decided, last minute, to head up to the land about 100 miles from Minneapolis. Lucky for me it was clear skies and no moon! Hooray! My first chance to actual try my hand at some milky way images. More to come but here is my first attempt.

Much better than anything I've yet managed of the milky way & the added touch of the light beam is brilliant.

Thanks. I think the hardest part about the milky way is getting a night with no moon, cLear skies and finding an area with very little light pollution.
