Zone system? This is new to me. Anyone care to explain?

Man, if you think I'm long winded...
I don't know much about it, but.. yeah, three books.


One point that should be made, I seem to remeber that it was all geared towards negative film. Shooting digital is like shooting slides: you have to be really careful about blowing out the highlights. With film, you can usually rescue something from the thin (light) area of a neg, but with digital, overexposure will result in a pure white area with absolutely no information at all.

I think that there is already at least one or two long winded threads on what the zone system is. Maybe Vonn will hunt them down for us (that guy is better than a search engine).
