i went through the two lights gates and told the attendant they should charge all the tourists triple.We still get discounts as being locals and i am probably going to buy the state park pass this year. I have too much hostility for tourists. Mostly because as mentioned prices go up, and i have trouble finding a parking space. since i live here it gets pretty annoying. They take up the eastern seaboard up here like cockroaches during the tourist season. Suppose they spend money, but you wonder if it is worth it.

I've photographed banal parking signs when I was visiting other countries. No people in front of them though.

It's hard for non-Mainers to grasp the tourist season. It's not xenophobia or us being crotchety, it is truly a massive influx of out of staters that clog the roads and make day-to-day life difficult for locals. I believe the population triples in peak summer time. What makes things worse is that there are a lot of "city people" who are famously rude and loud.

Its good for the economy but hard to deal with.
