Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Well it's almost Christmas time and I've decided to finally buy myself a decent digital camera and follow my interest of photography, I have always been interested in the subject I guess it might be part of my Web Design side but either way I don't wanna get to Christmas and not have a clue on what to do I realise there is a large learning curve and I'm not going to just pull the camera out of the box and be a great photography straight away no matter what I read or do until then but obviously I'm sure there is some stuff that I can be looking at that will give me a good start.

So if there is anything you would recommend, books or online or even just personal advice it will all be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

A bit of this will depends on what camera you are getting, since whilst the rules remain the same the ability to control and manipulate things will vary.

As a general text book though, for any camera which has manual or semi-manual settings selection, then Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson is a good starting point. Also for starting out fresh the Digital Photography book 1 by Scot Kelby is also a good place to make a beginning (esp with a DSLR).

Well the camera I plan on buying isn't a DSLR, I know they are what the majority of photographers use however seen as the most pictures I take are on my mobile phones camera I didn't really wanna splash out too much to begin with obviously if I get somewhat decent I will look at getting one but I have been looking at the Fujifilm S2970 from reading reviews and seeing image samples it looks like it is a pretty decent camera.

and thank you for the advice yeah I was thinking of more of generic books like the Exposure one might seem a good read.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY by Michael Wright and The Illustrated Practical Guide To DIGITAL AND CLASSICAL PHOTOGRAPHY by Steve Luck and John Freeman

KmH, I have these books and have been reading them. It has helped! You don't need to bash me on every post I leave. Thank You!
