If the body is still under warranty and the lens is new, then yes it is a good deal.

Sounds good to me. i love my D80.

Just be sure there's no visible damage and that the full warranty is in effect.

Oh, and make sure everything's in the box that's supposed to be there - cables, software, books.

Without at least a year warranty I would pass. I was just at Circuit City yesterday and there were a few kids abusing the hell out of the DSLRs. Also, do you want that lens? It's not a good deal if you plan on replacing it soon with different glass.

and there were a few scratches... so i went with an XSI len kit+bag+4gb stick+tripod+UV filter for like 900$

If the store you are referring to is a good camera store, I will think the demo camera is better than the one at circuitcity or bestbuy.
