I moved a couple months ago. Haven't shot much since then - still sort of settling in. Well, I'm mostly settled, but there are still a few boxes to unpack. Took this at the old place. It doesn't really convey just how many boxes we had the walls lined with, lol.

You never realize just how much crap you've accumulated until it's time to move. I've moved so many times that I have completely burned away any tendencies I might have had to be a pack rat.

There's something unsettling about the repetition of that "Never stop improving" logo on all the boxes. It's almost shrill. I kinda like it

We're not good enough the way we are - we need to buy some new sinks and toilets, lol. They'll never say it, but I'm sure that's part of the reasoning behind the motto. Spend.

But, they do have cheap boxes, lol. And in this case it really was a drastic improvement.

Hey, I had a stack of boxes just like that when we moved a couple of years ago! And I mean, exactly those Lowe's boxes: mostly medium sized, stacked floor to ceiling in the garage as we started emptying out rooms.

I like the "Never stop improving" logo, too. We know what it means - consume! Consume!

Originally, I was planning on another cross-country move, and I was planning on getting rid of almost everything. Things changed and I only ended up moving about 100 miles, so I figured we can go ahead a pack everything (we did get rid of a lot though, just to make a lighter load).

Last time I did a cross-country move, we hired movers (which was very nice and hassle free) - I figure we spent about $7000 to move $5000 worth of "stuff". I didn't want to do that again, lol.

I tried to hire movers this time, but nobody had an opening the weekend we were moving. I don't mind packing, it's the loading and unloading I would rather pay someone else to do, ha! Short move like this, it wouldn't have cost much either.

The whole thing was a headache. I reserved a U-Haul. The guy even called the day before to confirm. We went there the morning of the move - he rented the U-Haul to someone else minutes before we got there - we had to find another place at the last minute... It was driving out as we were driving in (earlier than he told us to be there). WTF. I just realized that I forgot to leave him a bad review, lol.
