...working with simple subjects and concentrate on light, shadows, tones....so...what do you think??

The first has a nice range of tones, given by the reflections on the foot of that lamp. The whole lamp doesn't fascinate me as much. And the flowers (silk or true?) seem to be a bit dark ... composition is nice, though!

P.S. The flower is "real"....it's a geranium plant that belonged to my "Oma". When she was in her late 80s she fell ill and ended up in hospital. She asked me to take care of her beloved plants...including the geraniums. Well, after a relatively short time in hospital she was transfered to a retirement home. After a year or so at the retirement home she moved over to the nursing home. She passed away in her early 90s....approx. 10 years ago.....and I'm still "taking care" of her geranium......
