Thoughts on Giottos MH-1000 Ballhead?

Anyone know anything about the Giottos MH-1000-652 Ballhead?

I don't have any experience with it, but a 22lb load capacity for $118 doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

Top class head I use it with Canon 1DS and 300mm L lens, Have a look at this site, register fpr free, and members pages show a brilliant set up using this head for correcting parallax and panos.

For about the same amount of money you could have this head. MH1300400C Giottos MH-1300 Pro Series II Extra Large Socket & Ball Head with 1/4 x 20 Camera Mount - Max Load: 25 Lbs. or it comes in this configuration:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/490018-REG/Giottos_MH1300_657_MH_1300_Pro_Series_II.html

Supports more weight, shorter shaft for better stability. In the first configuration you could put what ever QR system you like on it. My personal choice is the Arca-swiss system. While more expensive to start with it is probably the most sturdy system with the widest selection of plates both for camera bodies and lenses.
