Three trees watching the sun go down

I went not too far away from home yesterday to try something different when it comes to sunset. So far I had rather wide pictures with no real foreground and was in altitude, looking down. I wanted to change that so I stayed in the valley and tried to look for interesting elements to put in the picture.

Three would be be my favorite if it was cropped just a bit tighter. I like the way the centered composition shows how alone the little group of trees are but I'd prefer to see them a bit closer. I zoomed in a bit on my iPad and really like the way it looks.

Very nice images - I also think that #2 is the best. For me, the road in #1 detracts from the sunset and in #3 the jet trails kill it - I just don't like to see these man-made artefacts in an image, but then that is just my personal bias.

I really like that first one and the way the road leads your eyes through the image. Try cropping out just a bit on the left side enough to lose the one post, I covered that on my screen and it seems to work.

In fact i am confusing about #2 or #3 as my favorite, many choose #2 and i understand why, but i also like #3 because its simplicity and more colors and exposure is better in that one, but maybe composition and tree perspective is not that much to give it a winner, but still i put #1 as my last choice/vote.

Just so you know, #1 and #3 are composed of two pictures (one exposition for the sky and another one for the foreground). #2 is only one exposure.

This may sound strange, but I like the composition of 1 most, and the colors in 2 the most.
