These are a few shots I took on a hike to the ruins of a cotton mill burned down by the Federation Army in 1864. They are uncropped and shot mostly on scene landscape mode, all on a Kodak advanced P&S...

Any ideas on better angles (Can't get down to it, fenced off) or what the best settings/time would be for outdoor shots? These were between 12noon and 1pm, so very harsh sun I know. I may get to go back between 6:30 and 9 next week sans kids (VBS!) but I don't have a buddy to go with and I am not sure how safe solo hiking would be (it's about 1/2 mile down but there's supposed to be more another 1/2 mile) in that area. Some of these are going to be powerpoints, but for the mnost part these are practice.
