What's new

Titanic

I'm really looking forward to watching this as well. I've always been mesmerized by the Titanic ever since I was very young.

It's all fascinating stuff ... :onthego:

Wife's great uncle went down with it, young apprentice electrician. Getting on the Titanic crew was apparently moon-shot crazy, something anyone connected to its build scrambled for.

Wow, just watched this, very interesting.

I watched this TV program on National Geographic last night. The detail in their results was absolutely amazing.

Plus the scale and ability to see things in a a 3d perspective.

All I can think of is the remains of the people who couldn't get out and went down with the ship. Are their bones still in there?

I don't recall them showing any, they did show remnants of clothing, shoes toys, etc. The rear section that broke off was almost a mile away and the overall debris field was large. Also they could only photograph it from the exterior.

The pressure is so great in that part of the Atlantic is so deep that the people would have become soup many, many years ago.

That's not true except for cavity areas like the lungs and sinuses. The rest of our bodies are mainly water which doesn't compress.
