took this looking over the starboard rail of my ship on cruise. just curious if there is too much in here or not. Before someone does ask yes the horizon is not a straight line when you are on the ocean.

Before someone does ask yes the horizon is not a straight line when you are on the ocean.

This is not so much asking, but observing. Vertical lines remain vertical unless the object is really tall like a skyscraper. Yes, the horizon is curved, but it is more noticeable in a wide shot and would not be higher on one side.

Yeah, the verticals are at right angles to the horizon,

There are 13 squillion ways to crop this shot.
It's your shot.
You choose.

What I was meaning was the bottom rail that comes out and cuts a 90 going back up should I have left it or not?

Don't know about crop, i would delete it

For those whom are uniformed, and don't know starboard from port:

Just remember left has 4 letters as does port, ergo port = left, starboard = right, fore = front, and aft = back.

I will let those of you that aren't sailors discover on your own what "luffing" means.
