Thanks Jeanelle, welcome to my 'noob' world.Have you tried this in b&w? The only reason I would suggest this is because the little bit of greenery in the background draws my eye away from your focal point. I am still pretty new to this, so it could be just me!

I love black & whites and do a lot of sepia. I had him in black and white and switched it back. The green was the only color in this "colorless" season we call winter so I left it. I actually even added a little saturation to make it even more green. I don't know why... just liked the bit of green in the picture.
Oh goody, a photo assignment. As indicated by the lovely photo above it's obvious I'm I'm running out of "One-a-day" image ideas.Since you live right there, you could practice getting the shot I described so you would know what settings to use on the fly.
(pun intended)
Thanks Danny... eerie indeed.I really like this because the branches and the crow make you want to see whats beyond. It's almost a "Beware" type feeling and then you enter and realize that your eyes have just laid rest on a graveyard. Eerie.

Assignment...hahahahaha. Well, you could also take the "10 interesting things whitin 10 feet of you challenge" to force yourself to work on composition. You could do it several times in different locations, hahahahaha!
