Took A Drive to France

Well we took a drive to France for the new year. And I was very happy to be there, it was a blast. I have a bunch more pictures, but these were my favorites.

I very much like the first two. Well done on getting so original a shot of the Eiffel Tower (which has been done so often), the B&W really brings out the textures. The only thing bugging me about the Louvre one is that it's slightly crooked.

I too especially like the first two. The Eiffel Tower shot has an old fashioned feel to it, as if it was taken in the 40s (love it!) And you got lots of detail in that Louvre shot (but I agree with the previous poster, I think it tilts to the right slightly)

I love 1. It's an angle of the tower I've never seen; great work on this too with the B&W!

I really like the first shot...good composition, nice B&W conversion and I really like how the top of the Eiffel Tower is disappearing into the haze/clouds.

The second shot looks like the shutter speed was a little too long. Don't care for all the empty space above the Louvre Museum.

Don't really care for the third and fourth shots. The third shot looks overexposed and I don't care for the space above the pyramid. The fourth shot is a little more interesting with the flare, but the composition isn't working for me.

The fifth shot actually looks OOF to me...or the focus point wasn't right on the eye. Composition isn't working for me with this one either. Might have been more interesting if you had gotten closer and placed the head in the upper right and it had water coming out of the mouth.

i was going to say the same thing about #1 as other posters have said...it's really original! that was the first thing that came to my mind 'wow, i've never seen the eiffel tower like that' so awesome job!

I used the Tamron for all of them. I had the Sigma but I was freezing my hands off taking these, and it was misty at times so I didn't want to change lenses.

And El2: Traveling for super cheap is one plus of being in the military and stationed in Germany. Although sometimes it's sometimes the ONLY plus lol
