Called cutomer service and the best they could do for me is $15 off or return for refund. I understand policy but damn that sucks. Have RMA form and they saied they'd email me a pre-paid UPS label so that's cool but now I'm out a backdrop stand.

Not Adorama's fault, I know but sure sucks none the less.

SO....any other suggestions since this kit is now out of stock? Flashpoint was suggested, any others?

When I went to the link you provided last night, it said they were out of stock. Do you think that could be why they aren't able to replace it?

Of course. The Customer service rep confirmed they are out of stock that's why I asked about other brand suggestions

This is the same setup I have and it's quite sturdy. I know it sucks to pay good money for something and then it comes in dinged and scratched. Still, it's just a couple of stands that are going be dinged and scratched after a couple of uses anyway, it's not a lens. If it were me, I'd probably take the $15 and move on. It's not much, but the hassle involved with shipping it back would be enough to deter me. Now if it were a local photo shop and I could throw it in the car and drive it over myself, I'd go that route, but you can't. I don't think it's going to compromise the integrity of the stand with those dings though. just my .02

No hassle to return for me, i have the original box and a free shipping lable. I also have UPS here at work daily so I don't really have to leave my office.

If they told me 1/3rd off I'd take it but not 2% for used or damaged goods, I'll return it and buy elsewhere.

$15 is 10%, not 2%. If it had been 2%, the stands would have cost $750.

that makes no sense at all. Ask them how much it cost them to ship something that big both ways. Does $15 make any sense? Cant even give you ADORAMA credit you can use in the future???

I have a flashpoint stand that is really good. Savage makes a nice one also...

depends on what size you are looking for.

You have me all nervous! My mom ordered mr the same backdrop stand at the same time. Mine has been here a couple days but she won't let me open it until Xmas. I am going to be so disappointed if its all betty up like yours!!

Man, I wish my light stands and booms and stuff were that shiny and new...how about I trade you a 10- year old POS baxckground stand and crossbar set for the stuff you just got? You pay the shipping on both sets, and I'll throw in a moth-eaten muslin!!! Deal?
