My sister challenged me to take a picture outside @ 12am, it looked really nice, the moon was hiding behind fast moving clouds and emitted this glow across the sky.

I wanted to make a picture look just like what i saw and i think i succeeded although it could be better. The problem with doing HDR is that those clouds were moving quick and the wind was blowing the trees around so I upped the ISO which downgraded the quality of this little "project" a bit but and after trying different brackets here are the exposures i used and what i ended up with.

What do you guys think?

I think composition is the most important thing when taking a picture. You can spend a week doing all sorts of post processing with every program from Photoshop to Gimp. If its a lousy composition, its just not going to help. In this case it doesnt seem there was any thought in what you shot. You mentioned the sky but its largely hidden behind the trees. The foreground is all of of focus and the background is nothing worth looking at. As far as being an HDR, I dont really see an improvement on your 0EV shot. I dont know how anyone else is going to sugar coat this but Id say back to the drawing board.

Maybe if you had isolated the center elm for interest and gone for the sky/cloud you were after?

The only picture that's working is the last one. All of other images say that they're unavailable?

+1 LOL I so agree.
So to better answer the question at hand

" Tough one, what would you've done differently...." Simple Shoot Something More interesting.

Its not so much as shoot something more interesting, but since you wanted to get the sky then run out someplace where the sky is clearly visible. So its the main focus and not trees, bushes and buildings in the way. The main subject should be more clearly visible.

That was the only place I could of taken the shot and I was standing on a bench. Thanks for your opinions.
