Tracks and Flowers - C&C Please

C&C appreciated. Still have a lot to learn obviously but I think I do see growth. Think I needed a little more DOF in both of these shots but I'll let the experts break them down! These are my first from my new D7K. Both are using my 50mm 1.8G. I've challenged myself to keep that on my body until next month when I upgrade my old kit lenses.

I am NOOO expert, but of the two, #2 is the better in my humble opinion. I like the DOF feel of it. #1 just doesnt do it for me, but will let others chime in on it.

I rather prefer the tracks. Has the strong leading lines and a nice focus.

The flowers for me have too much going on. Yes the DOF is nice but there is not a point where my eyes are drawn and the subject itself isn't strong enough to keep my interest.
