Tree Silhouette vs. City Lights, C&C Welcome!

So I took these about twenty five minutes ago. The light is off of the clouds.

#1 was taken with no flash, F-stop 8, 15 second shutter.
#2 was taken with no flash, F-stop 11, 15 second shutter.

the first one looks better. the brown sky is not attractive.

find a better composition. this doesn't do much for me, and it's not very unique.

They are too dark for my tastes. number two is WAAY to dark. A longer shutter speed oughta fix that.

What caused the sky to be brown? Thats interesting.

it was cloudy and they are lit up doe to the light pollution (hence the thread title ...vs. City Lights) I live in NYC and I hate that lol. YOu barely see any stars
