My mom, actually. She's very helpful. :)

Textures. Of course. I can't stay away from them these days, and I havent gone out to shoot anything new lately.

Why do I feel like I have seen this exact picture before?

I probably posted the original up for CC back when I took it. It was one I wasnt sure about, so it seems like something I would have done. :) You may have seen it... I should probably do a search and see.

This, however, is a textured one.

Edit: yup, you have a good memory! I had forgotten, but here is where I first posted it...

Sorry. I wasnt trying to spam or anything; I just didnt remember that I'd posted this one! Though technically, it's not the same one. You could give CC on the PS.

I really like it. Imo the post-processing is actually really nice. Care to summarize how you photoshopped it?

Sure. 4 textures: a real dark scratchy one, 2 grayish rough ones and a smooth brown foggy one. I set the layers to overlay and screen and adjusted the opacity until I thought it was ok. The I erased the center of the real dark one.

I burned the person and the trees, and then the bottom of the frame to match the top because it had gotten so dark.

I clearly have too much time on my hands. :)

This image looks like it could have been shot through a window.

ah, a dirty window effect, eh? I see now where you could get that, but I was definitely not going for it. Oh well. Thanks for pointing it out!

I like this one better than the original.

Thanks Abby. Did you use Photoshop or some other program? To create the textures for each layer did you use something pre-set or play with adjustments yourself? Just curious.

Thanks Bitter!

Aerin328, Photoshop elements 8. Each layer was a texture (except the background layer, which was the picture), and three of them were free textures from the internet and one was one I had made myself by taking a picture of a foggy window.
