Huh...

About nine years ago, in the summer of 2004, my friend Michael asked me to help him shoot Trek Tech's VERY FIRST product photos. We shot their first promotional photos in my garage, using Michael's then-new hot camera--the EOS 10D!!!! He had met the company's founders at an outdoors show here in town. At the time we shot their pictures, they had only the original Trek Pod, with its nifty magnetic connector. It's pretty surprising how STRONG that magnetic attachment system was. Trek Tech supplied us with the very costly Swarovski binoculars and spotting scope shown in the two pics, as a way to demonstrate to potential customers that their mount could hold pretty hefty, valuable stuff with no issues.

And yeah... those magnetic connectors are INSANELY strong. Super impressive.
