Have been reading all the posts for long time and thought to post my first macro. Please don't criticize much
Please let me know your thoughts.

Took from Canon power shot SX20 IS

It is a funny subject, I assume you find this in your bathroom?
I may not critisize too much? Well, but I see that what is supposed to be your subject, as it is in focus and in front, is way too dark, as opposed to what I think is meant to be just context and background. Which takes away from your photo. Our eyes are invariably drawn to the brightest spots (watch yourself while driving at night: you'll always [!] look immediately into the direction of where there is a light!), so in your photo we are forced to notice the top lefthand corner first, and most, when the bottom righthand corner is your subject (more or less). See what I mean?

Would you dare going out and take photos of the life around you? Like: people?
And yes, I must say that you did succeed in photographing something different! That much is true!
