I'm gonna try to explain it best to my abilities :) When taking a long exposure picture( bulb mode) in low light does the humidity of air affect the blackness of dark areas? :)
Also, does the pollution make a difference? I haven't had the chance to experiment yet..
 
Unless you've got so much humidity that you can see it (fog), it should have no effect whatsoever on the image unless it condenses on the lens.

Pollution can be a killer! Climb up to a high point over a large city and look out; you'll see a grey/blue haze which is MURDER on photography.

Thanks for the tip. I'm in Chicago and I was wondering why that greyish black appears. I guess the air is not that clean :)
