So this is a doll from my childhood years. I don't know, the first one looked kind of cool to me since she looks kind of like a ghost. You can almost hear her "Will you play with me?" Not really sure what kind of photography it would be considred though, if anything lol. Second one just had a vintage type feel that I liked....but maybe it's just underexposed :blushing: As always C&C is appreciated.

its a really hard thing to do, my uncle is a photoshop expert and cant even come close to making that look, he had an "ol' timey" picture of himself when he was a kid that looked exactly what your trying to do here and had a picture of his daughter with the same exact pose and background and he tried so hard to immitate that old look and feel and he couldnt do it

#1 is a really good capture! I don't know what's going on in the background but it looks almost smokey with all the feathering and blurring.
Maybe try something less close up? Porcelain dolls reek of antiquity and old-timey, but that face in #2 is so clean and perfect it's hard for me to imagine it as vintage. Texture layering helps also

I'd crop some space off of the left hand side of the first photo. I think it would look better balanced that way.

The second image looks about right. It has in interesting visual tension in it. I like the way you've managed to use the camera to convey a sort of eerie mood.

This thread scares me way more than the spider thread. Dolls creep me out. *shudder*

Nice captures though, I like them, but hate them at the same time. Art win?

Very creative. Have you given any thought to using vignettes on this type of image, as "old time-y" images often have soft vignettes around them to produce an image with an oval frame of sorts? Looking forward to seeing more.

Cheers,

Thanks for the input guys! @adversus - lol! Yeah.....they are pretty creepy. My husband's best friend's mother had one whole room in her house that was filled with these porcelain type dolls. He said it wasn't very fun having to pass through that room at night when they were....ehheemmm in an altered state of mind lol
