Trying something new....self portraits

1&2 are just cropped too tight or not tight enough for my tastes and #3 is awkward in it's crop as well.

I really like #1, how did you achieve this effect?

#1 is my favorite in pose & eye contact, the haze is a bit overwhelming but I actually like it in this photo. #3 I also really like because of your pose & the colors. Very pretty setting. The second one doesn't stand out as much, I think because the background is so lit up and your face is so dark & what we can make out in your expression looks a bit like boredom. Good job though, love these self portraits.

Kudos for self portraits! Whenever I try, I look gross in all the pictures and get fed up so I go do something else. So I have almost no pictures of me.

1. I think I'd like a little more sky on top (just a little) and a little less blue haze on the left (the actual right side of your face, but the left side of the photo) side of your face. The haze is good, but just in that one spot it seems weird, like too much, or too blue.

2. You're too dark against the background, and the frame is too small.

3. telephone pole. Get rid of it. You're standing in the middle of a glowing, sunset, naturey meadow. Telephone poles have no business there.
