Trying the matte look

So after all the fuss on Paige's amazing matte look photos (Which are amazing btw) I tried some out.

And came up with my own pre set now, BIG thanks to Paige though. any thoughts?

Amazing shots, I've got a lot to learn when it comes to shooting humans.. BTW a noob question, what is this matte look?

Nice set. I like the processing on these images, I think I like #4 the best, hard choice there.

Thanks guys, yea I like 4 also, the portrait shots are the first time I ever used my built in flash lol

#s 1 & 2 are the best IMO. Excellent light in #2.

White balance is off in #6. You could crop #6 just at the edge of the greenery that is at hip height. I would show you but your profile is marked "My Photos Are NOT OK to Edit".

#s 3 & 4 you missed their faces.
#5 cute model, but her squint spoils it.

Nice images, but the only one that looks "matte" to me is #3. That one is also my favorite, but not because it is matte. It has a lovely color palette. I also like the "meeting of the minds" or mirrored gestures as these two search for the same thing.

The girl's head feels a bit too close to the top in the last shot. Little more headroom is needed, imo.
