Trying to take Night Shots

I have the Olympus IS 1 and I am in a photography class at school. My teacher has stopped actually teaching us, and so, as I'm on my 4th semester in photography, I wanted to keep getting more ideas. I want to take night shots, but the manual for the IS 1 doesn't really give that good of instuctions on how to figure out what ISO to put my camera on, or how to get to the ISO.
Please help!

The teacher has stopped teaching, are you sure?

4 semesters in photography, have you had this camera the whole time? If you don't have the owner's manual it is available on-line. Have you looked?

The manual indicates this camera is a film camera made to use DX coded film canisters. You can not manually set the film speed, the camera reads it off the canister.
